My new favourite skirt pattern - Simplicity 2152

 

My first make of the year, and I’m in love with this pattern!  It’s a very flattering panelled a-line skirt, with a couple of different pocket options.  I want to make more casual clothes this year, and this fits the bill perfectly.

It’s a very easy skirt to make, the only thing to remember is to make sure the pockets are lined up.  I’ll remember next time!  Also there is quite a lot of seam finishing to be done.  I bound the seams where they also had the pocket edges, and turned over the others.

I’ve already gone through my stash to plan some more versions of this.  I especially like the contrasting pocket bands, and have a black and white floral which would look great with black.  Hmm….

I’m taking part in Karen’s 2013 Sewlutions challenge with a pledge to use 12 pieces of fabric from my stash this year.  This is number one!  I’m also planning to keep a record of how much I spend on sewing, so will add a few stats to each blog post.
